Description
Dog Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Haleakalā is a loving girl who is eager to be your new best friend! Haleakalā, or Hale for short, is estimated to be around 3 months old and is the sweetest little lady. She is the type of puppy who will happily make herself comfy in your lap and cover your face in kisses. She is a true lovebug who adores making new friends and spending time with her foster family. Hale currently weighs about 7-8lbs and we estimate she will be around 40-50lbs when fully grown. Hale is part of our National Park Puppies. She and her siblings came into an overcrowded Central California animal shelter with their mom while they were still nursing. After a month under the shelter's care, they were at risk of euthanasia, simply due to a lack of space. We were so grateful to be able to save all the puppies and their mom (adoptable Sienna). They are all thriving in foster care and are looking for individual homes so that they can get the one-on-one training they need. Their mom looks to be an Australian shepherd/German shepherd mix and weighs about 45lbs. We don't know who their dad is, but we guess that he is a staffie mix based on what the puppies look like. Hale is the mellow lovebug of the group. She definitely seems to have inherited more of her dad's couch potato staffie personality rather than her mom's herding breed genes. She is personible girl who is quick to steal hearts with her big brown eyes and affectionate nature. She would love a family that will shower her with love - especially lots of belly rubs. When she's not cuddling with her foster family, you can find her wrestling with her siblings and zooming around the backyard. She is very food-motivated and smart, and would very much enjoy puppy classes to help her to continue to learn all of her basic manners. Hale has done great living with other dogs, both big and small, and could do great with a playful dog sibling or as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with other dogs. Hale has been doing well living with dog-savvy kitties and older kids. She could be a wonderful family dog for a family with kids 7 years and older. Hale is still working on her housetraining and will need a family committed to helping her learn. She has been doing well sleeping in a crate at night with two of her siblings and for short-periods during the day. She has never been completely alone, so she would need a family that can slowly acclimate her to being comfortable being home alone. Hale is such an amazing little girl, and she is going to make a very lucky family so happy. If you think that might be you, submit an application today! Hale's adoption fee is $400. A pply to adopt here! form.jotform/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website (.yolospca) It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
