  • Australian Shepherd-Unknown Mix Dog For Adoption in Queen Creek, AZ, USA

    Johnny

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Australian Shepherd-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Mixed. If you have second thoughts about adopting a stray or abandoned dog/pup, please check out our "Successful Adoptions Page" and see how many dogs we have already placed into loving homes. Be sure to check out their happy endings under "Happy Tails!" ADOPTION PROCESS Before 2nd Chance Dog Rescue places a dog in his/her furever home, the potential adopter is required to fill out an Adoption Consultation Application. Once we have reviewed your application we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet and home check. 2nd Chance Dog Rescue will only adopt to families living in the Queen Creek, Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, San Tan Valley, and Phoenix area - as long as it is within 50 miles of our rescue (Queen Creek). If you are ready to meet one of our amazing dogs CLICK ON THIS LINK TO FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION CONSULTATION FORM We are in need of finding Johnny a foster ASAP. He is ready to be released from hospital and we can’t afford to keep him in medical boarding indefinitely. We rescued him from the shelter's euthanasia list. Our boy was extremely ill, he wasn't eating, drinking or walking. When we rescued him we assumed he had an upper respiratory infection and/or valley fever. It turned out Johnny boy has herpes, which is totally treatable, and he is recovering from it, but he is deaf. He is ready for a home and some TLC! We think he's some kind of Aussie or perhaps Pointer or Rotti mix. He's on the smaller side of medium, at just 40 lbs. As far as we know, he is okay with dogs, but we would need to do a meet and greet to confirm compatibility. Please consider being a Foster or Forever Hero for Johnny, and showing him what love is all about. Special needs dogs are often overlooked because people are unsure they can handle them - but please know that these amazing creatures often compensate very well for their disabilities, and make the most amazing family members.

At first we thought Scooter was going to be a Last Chance Angel foster dog when we rescued him from the county shelter, but other than having a little vision and hearing issues our boy is healthy, so we are looking for a forever home for him. Scooter is between 13-14 years old, gets along with all dogs and most likely will do well with cats. We are looking for an amazing, quiet, loving home. He has flourished in his foster home, and we have high hopes for finding him a wonderful permanent home to see him through the rest of his senior years!

Courtesy Post Please share or consider whether or not you can adopt or foster this sweet girl! IF you can HELP, please contact Amanda or her mother. But only if you can help - thank you... "Roxy is housebroken (never has had a inside accident), very sweet, loves car rides, & she is fixed and about 6-7 years old. My mom rescued her in a Walmart parking lot when she was probably around 7 months to a year old. She is a pit mix. (Mix unknown due to rescue situation). She gets nervous around smaller kids and hides or shakes. She has never been aggressive towards kids or people. She loves my 11yr. old son BUT we do think a house with loving adults (or adult) would be better. We don't want someone who will only leave her outside as she has always been a inside outside dog with a dog door option. My name is Amanda @ 602-469-3060 My mom is Jacque @ 602-574-0119 My mom is heartbroken to have to be in this situation. Thank you for your help."

If you are ready to meet one of our amazing dogs CLICK ON THIS LINK TO FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION CONSULTATION FORM *COURTESY POST* We met Duke and his mom Theresa at a recent adoption event. Theresa lost her job and has to move into an RV trailer park by April 1st. Unfortunately most of the parks have a weight restriction for dogs and Duke is over their limit. Theresa is heartbroken but is out of options; therefore she is desperately trying to find Duke a new home or rescue that is able to take him in until he finds his forever home. Duke is 2 years old, neutered, but will need to be updated on vaccines, he is believed to be a Black Mouth Cur/Boxer mix. Duke is very sweet and has an old soul, he truly is a special boy. Theresa said he does well with other dogs but is leery of pit bulls because of past experiences, they are the only breed he isn't comfortable with (proper introduction with any animal is required). If you are interested in adopting Duke, please fill out an application and we will forward it to Theresa. Also, 2nd Chance Dog Rescue will take Duke under our rescue if we can find a long term committed foster in the East Valley, so if you live in Mesa, Tempe, Gilbert, Chandler, San Tan Valley or Queen Creek, please fill out a foster form, so that we can help save this sweet boy.

If you are ready to meet one of our amazing dogs CLICK ON THIS LINK TO FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION CONSULTATION FORM After 4 years in a home, 2nd Chance Alum Jax is in need of a new home. His family is moving to Europe and we have agreed to take Jax back under our wing and find him new digs. While we are disappointed, we always stand by our dogs! We'd like to find a foster or forever home as soon as possible for sweet Jax. He's four years old and a handsome lab mix, about 70 pds. Jax is extremely nervous around new people and can be an aggressive barker at first, but once he is calmed down, he is really sweet. We really need to find him a secure foster in the East Valley so he can begin to start his new life. We will provide all his necessities including training. At this time we'd love to find him a home without other pets, until we can assess what his compatibilities are, but will consider homes with animals on a case-by-case basis.

Max was adopted in 2016 and for the first year things were great, but unfortunately once things started going downhill in his owners marriage Max started paying the price. Max was no longer the apple of his dad's eye and his overall care was being neglected. A once healthy and happy Max found himself back at the shelter in worse shape than his first stay. Thank goodness for Max's guardian angel Debbie, who immediately rushed to Max's aid. Debbie's had her vet give Max a full examine to ensure there wasn't any underlying issues going on. Max tested negative for Tick Fever and Valley Fever. Debbie is now having a fecal and heart worm test performed to ensure Max is 100% healthy. Debbie is looking to find Max a new family that won't neglect and abandoned him like his former dad did. If you can provide Max with a secure/loving and happy life, please fill out an adoption application and we will send it over to Debbie for her review and she will contact you. Max is an 8 y/o boxer. He is 61pds, neutered, up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Max was recently in a home with children and small dogs and a cat, but he doesn't do well with bigger dogs .

If you are ready to meet one of our amazing dogs CLICK ON THIS LINK TO FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION CONSULTATION FORM Beautiful, soulful Vixin is a three year old bully mix, with heart-melting eyes. We rescued her from the shelter's euthanasia list. Like most dogs that wind up at our local shelters, Vixin was someone's dog once, and most likely due to having Valley Fever, her owner didn't want her anymore. Our girl spent weeks in the hospital due to an upper respiratory infection and a large mass on her shoulder (which we found out was due to her having valley fever and not being treated). She is fully recovered from the URI, and is on medication for her Valley Fever. From what we know about Vixin, she is a sweetheart who loves to be around people, she loves to play with toys, and loves to show off when she receives new toys and bones. She would be an amazing addition to someone's family! We have not tested her out with cats, and as always, proper introductions would need to be done with any potential canine family members to see if they get along. Since Vixin has Valley Fever, we are reducing her adoption fee to $125.00 and will cover her medication for 6 months for the right family. We are also open to fostering if you aren't able to adopt at this time.

If you are ready to meet one of our amazing dogs CLICK ON THIS LINK TO FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION CONSULTATION FORM *COURTESY POSTING* Rocky’s story from his current guardians: “Rocky’s owner passed away Christmas day. He was found as a stray a little over 2 years ago by my boyfriend’s dad, and taken in. His dad passed away and we thought we had a home for him, but it didn't work out. They said he doesn't do well with cats at all. He is with a family member, but they are only able to hold onto him for a brief time, as they have 3 other dogs, and many farm animals and unable to keep him. He does well with just about everyone except for cats. He’s housetrained, but may need some attention when first placed. Other fosters have said he "may' mark the first couple of days if there are other dominant male dogs in the family. He can be a little excited when first meeting other dogs. And needs more attention on leash training. He’s very friendly with people, non-destructive, and very, very lovable. He’s been through a rough few months. Lost his fur brother in September, and his dad at Christmas, and been moved around to 3 different homes since then. Needs stability and patience. Came from a very loved home. Please help us honor his owner, and help him find a furever home!

If you are ready to meet one of our amazing dogs CLICK ON THIS LINK TO FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION CONSULTATION FORM **COURTESY POSTING** Brenna's current guardians found her abandoned in a park and need to find her a home: "She was a stray we picked up out in the desert (we live behind San Tan Regional Park) just after Thanksgiving. She was obviously dumped out here, without any ID, at about a year old. We had her into the vet for shots and spaying, and really want to keep her. She is sooo sweet and friendly to us and our kids (we have three teens). However recently she’s starting to initiate fights with our other dogs, especially our older labradoodle (Chava is 12 yrs old and we’ve had him since 8 weeks). We also have a few other small dogs (Caesar the chihuahua, Alex the terrier mix, and Harley the miniature poodle.... all rescues) who’s safety we’re concerned for. Last night when we got home after being out to celebrate a birthday there were two bad fights between Chava and Brenna and she was continued to aggressively pursue him after. We’re heartbroken to give her up and really don’t want to bring her to the county. We feel she would be great in a single dog home, super sweet and highly responsive to people, easily trained, and housebroken."
