Reno is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Reno is part of a group of dogs that are currently recovering from extremely poor living conditions. The conditions that we are clearing include sarcoptic mange, skin infections from dirty conditions and lack of grooming, intestinal parasites, and respiratory infections. Every dog has at least one of these conditions; some have multiple. Full records will go with every dog. Weight: 4 lbs we expect he will be between 10-12 lbs when full grown Height: 4 in and growing - we expect he will be between 10-12 in when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No, Reno is too young and small to be neutered. He will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract that requires you to neuter him at your expense within 9 months and provide proof of neuter. Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No. While a fenced in yard isn't mandatory, Reno would love to romp around a safe fenced space under your watchful eye to burn off some of his energy. What kind of home would be best for me? Reno is like any pup, full of energy, curious, and learning new things each and every day. He will easily blend into his adopter's home whether it is a house or apartment, and he will do well with a single adopter, a couple, or a family. Reno would be the ideal forever friend for your child 10 years old and up. He requires a home with another active dog for play and socialization. What matters the most to Reno is that his adopter is happy, excited, and ready to take on loving and training him. This engaging little pup will be the light of your life, come see him before he's off spreading light and love to another. Puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Puppies are generally very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can! What is my personality like? Reno is a playful and curious puppy who loves interacting with other dogs and even cats (though the feeling might not always be mutual!). His energetic nature means he’s always up for a game and eager to learn new things. This guy is like the Energizer Bunny, he just keeps going and going. He zooms around, chew on anything he can get hold of (he's especially fond of finger food - YOUR fingers), eats, sleeps and pees and poos. Then he does it all again. When he finally crashes, he takes a long, well-deserved nap. It's just what puppies do. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) How do I act when I first meet new people? Reno is a joyful little guy who will run up to you, ready to play and spread his happiness. His excitement to meet new people is as boundless as his energy! Other tips and tidbits: Reno was born on 4/26/2024 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.
