Eight weeks ago, we were blessed to have three beautiful Snorkie girls born in our home. Our Snorkie (Ellie Mae) has a parti-miniature-schnauzer momma that is beautiful and belongs to my son, and a traditional tiny cute Yorkie Daddy. I wanted to breed my Snorkie, and I learned that the Parti Yorkie, or Parti Schnauzers are dogs that exhibit the piebald gene. The Piebald gene is recessive, so in order for the offspring to exhibit the piebald trait they have to get the piebald gene from both parents. Since my Snorkie had one parent that was piebald (Parti) she is a carrier of the piebald gene. Then I started my search for a Parti Yorkie to breed her with. In my search for a parti-yorkie, I discovered a new breed - the Biewer Terrier. After doing more research I was quickly convinced that a Biewer was what I wanted. These dogs were developed by a couple in Germany with the name Biewer. They raised beautiful show Yorkies and got a surprise with a black and white puppy and they loved the look. They decided to develop this breed and bred beautiful Biewers so the Biewer is basically a German black/white/brown Yorkie. This is a relatively newer breed in America and just this past January they finally became a recognized breed by the AKC. My husband purchased a small sweet registered male Biewer Terrier from Ukraine. We bred him with our Ellie Mae. Anyway, we are now selling our three little Snorkie pups which are 50% Biewer Terrier, 25% traditional Yorkie and 25% miniature parti Schnauzer. These sweet small babies are being raised in our home and are loved very much! They will be a smaller than most Snorkies, because they have a higher percentage of Yorkie and our Miniature Schnauzer is very small. Their daddy weighs five pounds and the mommy weighs six and a half pounds. I am praying for good and very loving homes for each of these precious girls."
