We can count every rib. Who knows how long she has been fending for herself. She was found on a country road and surrendered to ARF on 4/22/17. Having no foster homes available, she went into boarding. She seems young and energetic, but she is too thin. A fecal revealed that she has no worms, so she has just been hungry! She is being fed small meals often, for she would overeat if given too much at one time. She received her first shot, Duramune 5, on 4/24/17. She will be checked by the vet soon to determine what else she needs. She was much too interested in the cat room while at boarding, so she likely is not good with cats. Poor girl probably has been very neglected her entire life. She is fearful, probably with good reason. She needs a soft voice and a kind hand. ------------------------------------- Animal Rights Fur-Ever is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all-volunteer animal rescue located in Ripley, West Virginia. They have been together since they were puppies, and they are now 7 1/2 years old, so naturally they are used to each other's company. But since they have been with ARF for a while, they are learning to be more independent. Their entire world changed when they were relinquished by an owner whose own world had fallen apart, so it took some time for Rudy and Willie to adjust. But they shouldn't have to spend the rest of their lives without homes, and we believe now that they could go to separate homes. They have been altered and had their shots and seem very healthy. They love to go for walks when volunteers can take them. They like children but don't prefer to be picked up. Willie and Rudy have become a little chubby, to put it mildly, and could use some weight-control food. They probably weigh 25 pounds now! Rudy and Willie have attended adoptathons and birthday parties for children, and though they did fine and gave their best "give me a second chance" look, they didn't get adopted. And they wait. Will someone get these small dogs into a loving home? ------------------------------------- Animal Rights Fur-Ever is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all-volunteer animal rescue located in Ripley, West Virginia.
