Puppies are here! Our girl, Goose, had 8 adorable male puppies on July 20th! We are a family-based Wirehaired Pointing Griffon breeder located in Southern Ontario, focused on raising loyal, intelligent, and well-socialized dogs that thrive both in the home and in the field. Our dogs, Otto and Goose, are AKC-registered Wirehaired Pointing Griffons and are first and foremost members of our family. Otto, our four-year-old male, is known for his calm personality and his funny habit of always carrying socks around the house — which inspired the “Sock” side of our name. Goose, our two-year-old female, brings natural hunting instincts, intelligence, and energy that inspired the “Feather” side of our name. We chose the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon breed because of their incredible temperament, loyalty, intelligence, and versatility. Griffons are affectionate family dogs with strong hunting instincts and a natural eagerness to learn. Their hypoallergenic coats and gentle personalities make them an excellent fit for active families and homes with children. Otto and Goose are not kennel dogs — they are raised in our home as part of our family. They are highly socialized, great around children of all ages, and exposed to everyday family life from the start. We believe early socialization and a home-raised environment are essential in developing confident, well-rounded puppies with great temperaments. We chose to breed Wirehaired Pointing Griffons because we truly love the breed and believe more families in our area should have the opportunity to experience these incredible dogs. Our goal is to raise Griffons that reflect the qualities that make this breed so special — strong temperaments, intelligence, companionship, trainability, and versatility in both family and hunting environments. At Sock & Feather Griffons, we are committed to raising healthy, loving, and socialized puppies that are ready to become part of the family.

Otto is our 4 year old sweetheart. He loves to wiggle his butt when visitors come by. He loves to swim, play ball, and play fight with Goose. Otto loves going for long walks, and will have his eyes on squirrels outside. He is our gentle old soul doggo.
Mother
Goose, is our 2.5 year old, keeps us on our toes girl. She loves cuddles, pets, and will let us know when she wants a snack. She will hunt rabbits, squirrels and birds on a daily. She had 8 beautiful boy pups and is such a good mom.

The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon is a distinguished and versatile hunting dog, originating in the Netherlands and refined in France during the late 19th century by Eduard Korthals. Known for its rugged, medium-length "gris" (grey) coat with a harsh, wiry texture that provides excellent protection from harsh weather and thorny undergrowth, this breed also sports characteristic bushy eyebrows and a prominent mustache. Griffons are generally intelligent, eager to please, and devoted companions, making them well-suited for active families who appreciate their affectionate nature and playful antics. While they possess a strong prey drive and require consistent training and plenty of exercise, their adaptable temperament means they can thrive in various living situations, though a home with a yard is often preferred over apartment living due to their energy levels. Generally a healthy breed with a lifespan of 12-15 years, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia and certain eye conditions, making reputable breeders essential.
