At Lagniappe GSP Kennel, we strive to match our pups with families who welcome them as family members, as well as hunting companions. We are Louisiana natives who have happily made our home here in AR. Lagniappe is a Cajun word meaning "A Little Something Extra", which is exactly what you get with this breed: energetic, eager to learn, loyal, faithful, loving, intelligent, enthusiastic, very affectionate, and sometimes offering their own opinions. GSPs are born with a natural hunting instinct that only needs to be tuned to your preference. GSPs are strong, quick, and graceful, they have great instincts working in pairs or on their own pointing, tracking, and acquiring their prey, with little instruction. Both mom (Scarlett) and dad (Roux) are liver roan in color, very intelligent, and well-tempered. Pups are all liver roan in color, have playful personalities, and have been socialized with people of all ages. Parents are AKC registered and the litter has also been AKC registered.
Items Included: Litter Registered, you will receive AKC paperwork to send in to register your pup individually. Tails docked, dew claws removed, wormed, and each has a collar.

They possess a strong, muscular physique that enables them to excel in diverse activities. Temperamentally, GSPs are energetic, intelligent, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active individuals or families. Their loyal and affectionate nature means they thrive on human interaction, but their high energy levels necessitate ample daily exercise to prevent boredom or destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their need for space and activity generally makes them less suitable for small apartment living unless their exercise requirements are exceptionally well-met. Regarding health, GSPs are a relatively robust breed, though they can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and certain cancers. Responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups are crucial for maintaining their well-being.
