verifiedPosted Breed: Papillon / Dachshund / Mixed. How'd! Eli here, and I'm on the lookout for the one! My foster mom is fairly certain that I'm a Papillon dachshund mix, with my long nose but very fluffy ears! I'm a spunky little guy who was picked up as a stray in Arlington until this nice rescue came to take care of me. I was put on Rescue only because I nipped at the people in the shelter, but that's just because a shelter is a really scary place can you blame me? When my foster mom took me home she was worried because she knew this but figured out pretty quickly that I just don't like to be touched when I'm inside a kennel. I am kennel trained but I do bark in the kennel. Plus you don't have to worry about touching me in the kennel because I know how to get in and out on my own when Im told! I really just needed some love and patience and time to know what it was like to be in a home and I'm glad that I was given the chance. I'm very food possessive and will growl and nip at other dogs if they try to take my food or even my foster mom. Although I am working on drop it and I'm getting better and better. I've started to drop things when she tells me to and won't growl at her or lunge after it. I don't play much but I do like going on jogs! But my favorite thing in the whole world to do is curl up in bed with my foster brothers and sisters.Tags:

verifiedPosted Breed: Dachshund / Papillon / Mixed (medium coat). Say hello to Oris, our beloved one-eyed Long Haired Dachshund/Papillon mix! Oris arrived from Mexico earlier this summer with his left eye in bad shape. A vet consultation, quick surgery, and a few weeks of recovery later, Oris has a clean bill of health and is ready to go home! Oris is a sweet, friendly, mellow, affectionate, easygoing, submissive, and low-maintenance little guy. Oris may be a tad unprepossessing in appearance when it comes to his missing peeper, but believe us when we say this is one amazing pooch with a heart of gold! Oris gets along well with other dogs and people alike. He is a very approachable pup who loves belly rubs. If you sit down with him, he’ll rub himself against you for more scratches behind his ears, and he will even try to climb into your lap to maximize contact. We have reason to believe that Oris is already housebroken as he does both #1 and #2 as soon as he is taken outside in the morning. He is just over 3 years of age and weighs all of 10 pounds. Look into his eye and you’ll see that Oris is a total sweetheart who deserves a forever home to call his own! If you'd like to meet Oris, please visit www.thebarkinglot.net/adoption-application.
