Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky / Pomeranian (short coat). Blossom 3 to 4 yrs. old Spayed Female Meet Blossom: A Story of Hope and Happiness Hello, my name is Blossom! I'm a beautiful 3 to 4 -year-old mix of Siberian Husky and Pomeranian, and I have the most striking blue eyes you'll ever see. I've been on quite a journey, but thanks to my amazing foster family, I'm learning to trust again and am so excited about my second chance. I've come a long way since being rescued from a shelter, and now I'm ready to share my love and joy with a forever family. I walk wonderfully on my leash and absolutely love outdoor adventures. Playing with tennis balls and chewing on bones are some of my favorite ways to have fun! I get along great with older children, but I prefer a home without small dogs or cats. I'm looking for a family that will continue to help me bloom and grow. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a happy, loving, and beautiful companion, I can't wait to meet you! Adoption Information About Me: Spayed Female House Trained, Crate Trained, & Leash Trained Great with Older Children Some Basic Training Good with Medium and Large Dogs Microchipped Up to date on all Vaccinations, Flea & Tick Treatment, and heartworm prevention Interested in Meeting Me? Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
