Description
Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Age: 2 years Sex: Neutered male Estimated Breed: Bully X Weight: 51 lbs Good with dogs?: Yes Good with cats?: Unknown Good with children?: Unknown, older children likely okay Special/Medical Needs: No Energy Level: Medium Adoption Fee: $650 Foster Home Location: Crowsnest Pass Buck is a very sweet and friendly boy; however, it takes a little bit to earn his trust. Once you are friends, he will love you to the ends of the earth and back. He loves people and almost all other dogs, but he does not like un-neutered males. Buck is a very good listener. He is very obedient and eager to please. He is still breaking some of his silly puppy habits like mouthing and jumping up when he's excited, but he listens to corrections right away. He is a very energetic guy, but he has no problems just crashing on a couch or his crate with a bone and chilling. Buck is good with little dogs but has not been tested with cats. He has such a sweet face and personality; he would be a great addition to a loving family. Our rescue is called BARCS. We are a registered Charity. Our Website is .barcsrescue. All our animals are posted on the website and updated often. If you would like to proceed we need an adoption application to be filled out. They can be found on our website. Once we receive your application, we will contact you to arrange a meeting with the pup you are interested in. We look forward to hearing from you.

Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
