Description
Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Age: 1 year Sex: Spayed female Estimated Breed: Bully X Weight: 44 lbs Good with dogs?: Yes Good with cats?: Unknown, but likely no Good with children?: Unknown Special/Medical Needs: No Energy Level: Medium to High Adoption Fee: $650 Foster Home Location: Crowsnest Pass This goofy little pocket pitty is so full of love and personality. When she first came to us, I didn't think she would ever stop moving and being so wired. After a few days with new people and a new pack, Kit has learned how to calm down and just take it easy. She is a very smart girl who picks up on things very quickly. She listens to corrections and does very well with medium to large size dogs. She loves little dogs and would never want to hurt another dog but sometimes her strength is overwhelming for little dogs. Kit has not been tested with cats but definitely has a hint of a prey drive and may chase cats. She is so cute; pictures do not do this little one justice. She has a face and ears like no other. Anyone would be very lucky to add this sweet girl to their family. Our rescue is called BARCS. We are a registered Charity. Our Website is .barcsrescue. All our animals are posted on the website and updated often. If you would like to proceed we need an adoption application to be filled out. They can be found on our website. Once we receive your application, we will contact you to arrange a meeting with the pup you are interested in. We look forward to hearing from you.

Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
