Dog Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Stella's been waiting far too long… As of June 3, 2025, Stella has spent 1,844 days in foster care—that’s over 5 years without a forever home. While her foster family has shown her love and patience, nothing compares to having a family of her own to snuggle up with each night. Stella is just over 10½ years old, and she originally came to PMAR as a puppy. Sadly, she was returned in May 2020 due to changes in her adopter’s living situation—and she’s been waiting ever since. She’s a sweet, shy girl who truly shines when she feels safe. Stella would do best as the only pet in the home, though she might be okay with a calm, dog-savvy cat. She's also incredibly smart—she knows “No” (begrudgingly), “Wait,” “Place,” “Down,” “Sit,” “Off,” and “Come.” Stella enjoys the simple pleasures: sniffy walks, sunshine, and a quiet spot to relax. She walks beautifully on leash and loves being outdoors. ✨ She deserves more than waiting. She deserves a home. Our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary. Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies. Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. Please note we do not adopt animals in Canada.
