Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Terrier (short coat). Polly is a fun loving and smart girl who has been looking for her home for a long time. She is approximately 12 years old, but still has the ability to be mischievous, playful and love her humans. She loves to go for long walks and is very active for her age! She listens very well too. She is a beautiful, sweet and good girl that deserves a second chance at love and a family for athe final years of her life. She has some age-related issues, and takes Proin daily, which costs around $40 per month. She requires a diet without Chicken, as the feathered animals upset her stomach. Speaking of feathered animals, she would not do well in a home with fowl or other wildlife since she tends to chase them, even at her age! She would do best in an only pet household. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
