Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Hound / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 200.00. DOB: 10/21/2018 Ain't nothing but a hound dog.... oh and some shepherd they think, basically a heinz 57 with lots of great traits. I love to be with my people and would be great with older folks, a young couple or a family with lots of kids! I do great with people, but am not so fond of sharing my people with other dogs. I would love a fenced in yard so we can play fetch and I can get in some afternoon naps in the sun. At 5 years old, I am past the chewing stage, and have great house manners and know basic commands. Are you ready for a forever friend to watch TV with, hang out in the yard or garden with, and just be best buddies? (CM) Up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. Adoption Fee: $100.00

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
