Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Hound / Mixed. Interested in meeting a very friendly puppy who gets along fine with kids and dogs? Meet Mohegan, sibling of Cherokee, who is just 6 months, currently weighing 34 pounds. Our best estimate of her full-grown weight is a large size dog of over 60 pounds. She is a labrador retriever/hound mix. Note the delicate white paws and the friendly puppy face. She has a short black and white coat with a perfectly symmetrical face of the same colors! She is full of life and puppy energy. Little is known about her previous life. But puppies have lots of potential, so she can grow to be a wonderful companion in the right home. Mohegan will need someone who has knowledge and/or experience working with puppies. Using the right guidance with consistency, repetition, and patience, will help her with the skills she needs to master. Cheerful praise and lots of treats will go a long way in helping her master those skills. It will take time and energy, but the result will be worth it. This is one smart girl, and she can prove it with showing off her leash walking skills. She is gold star oriented and is working on mastering her house and crate training. Daily short walks (under thirty minutes) will be a good opportunity to work on leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. Please note: She may not be a running companion until at least age one when her growth plate closes. Mohegan will also appreciate free time in the back yard. Keeping her mind active with activities that provide physical and mental stimulation will prevent boredom. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
