Aspen was 30 lbs and barely standing when rescuers arrived, her body so frail the vet said she was the most underweight dog she had ever seen, who was still, somehow, breathing. Aspen was one of seven -- and one had already died. But Aspen didn’t give up. Despite the pain, the hunger, the heartbreak—Aspen hobbled up on all fours. Her eyes, sunken but soulful, still searched for kindness. Her spirit, though battered, whispered: “I want to live.” Aspen is now safe, with the rescue. She needs intensive medical care, nourishment, and time to heal... After two weeks with the rescue, she is now at 35 lbs, and the staff at our vet's office in GA LOVE her. Aspen is a sweet and loving girl who's growing stronger and more energetic everyday. Loves ear scratches not as much as a good butt scratch though!
