Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Location: Ohio Feisty 8 week old male cattle dog mix. Mother is cattle dog border collie cross. Dad, your guess is as good as ours! Feisty is ready to blow this pop stand! I mean just look at him! Ready to take on the world- until he sees what’s behind him! Really he looks like a brute but he’s a big teddy bear. Loves attention & cuddles. Plays hard for little bit then crashes. Feisty has been well socialized. Young and old have made it a habit to stop and play with these pups frequently. He has been around other adult dogs, chickens and cats. To him they are just chewing toys that run from him. That makes it so much more fun! Feisty has had his first round of puppy shots, wormed, flea & tick prevention plus heartworm prevention. He is fostered in Salem Ohio thru ACDRA. If you have questions, feel free to email Janemalmsberryaol or go straight to ACDRA and fill out an application. He is just waiting for his very own human to snatch him up! Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
