Description
Dog Breed: Yellow Labrador Retriever / Black Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). If you are interested in any of the FFOSK9 pups, the first step is to fill out an application at .ffosk9resq/info/adoption . Patches is the oddball of the litter with his white coat and large patches. He is still as sweet and loving as the all the others and loves to play with you and give you lots of kisses. He is 1 of a littler of 14 puppies and does very well with all of them. He is the perfect age to start learning his house manners, to walk on a leash, to sleep in a crate, to ride in a car and do all kinds of fun things with the family or individual. Patches is a male that currently weighs 14 pounds at 9 weeks of age. His DOB is August 16th 2025. His mother is a smaller black lab (Lucy Loo). He is up to date on his vaccines and has been started on his preventatives. Due to his age and weight he is not neutered yet. There is a neuter agreement that has to be initialed and signed for him to be neutered when he is age appropriate. Failure to comply will result in Patches being returned to rescue where he will be neutered and put up for adoption again. There is a $75 reimbursement once the appointment is made at the veterinarian of your choice. The day of the scheduled appointment, a payment will be made to your veterinarian. The adoption fee is $325 before the reimbursement. We are a home based, not for profit organization in Northeast Alabama that helps place forgotten and unwanted pets in forever homes. We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3 organization. We rescue pets from high kill shelters, prior to being euthanized, as well as strays and unwanted pets. We do not adopt to "outside only" homes nor do we adopt to anyone who wishes to crop, dock, or do any other alterations except the spaying and neutering of their pets. All pets are completely vetted, up to date on all vaccines, and given rabies certificates.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
