Dog Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Hi there, I’m Chester, a calm, gentle boy with a tail that never stops wagging. Today was my Shelter Paws, and I got to show everyone what a sweet and loving pup I am. When my chaperone came to get me, I was a little unsure about getting into the car. It’s kind of a big step up, and new things can make me nervous. Once I was settled, I realized - hey, this isn’t so bad! The ride was smooth, and I enjoyed watching the world go by out the window. We went to a park full of sunshine and friendly faces. I met lots of new people, and I loved every single one of them. My tail wagged the whole time — honestly, I don’t think it ever stopped! Everyone said I was such a good boy, and I agree. While we walked, I saw some other dogs, too. I was polite and calm, just happy to stroll near them and take in all the smells. My leash manners are pretty good, if I do say so myself. I did all my business outside (thank you very much), so I might already be housetrained! There was one funny moment when we came to a little bridge. It looked kind of scary at first, and I wasn’t sure about it. But with some kind words and patience, I found the courage to cross. At the end of our walk, I leaned into my human for some affection. That’s my favorite part of any day — gentle pets, soft words, and being close to someone who cares. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion who will love you endlessly and wag his tail through every moment, I’m your guy. I’m Chester—sweet, steady, and ready for my forever home.
