Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Meet Holly ! This sweet 4.5-month-old female Hound mix (25.8 lbs) is as smart as she is adorable! She’s also a star on the leash and is energetic. Playful, loving, and ready for her forever home — Holly is the whole package! Holly is not only a beautiful puppy but she is also the sweetest! Holly is housebroken and sleeps great in a crate at night. She has mastered her leash walking and absolutely would benefit from a fur friend. She is still very much a puppy so chew toys are a must and she will benefit from more basic training, treat motivated! She does sit for dinner, breakfast and any treats. Although she is still perfecting her skills! When she is hungry she will tell you. She can be a little vocal but once she has eaten she is perfectly fine. Holly also likes to snuggle and with her long body and legs she is so soft and happy snuggling her face in your neck. Holly is a typical puppy! Like any puppy, training and consistency is key. Her favorite toys include frozen yogurt/ peanut butter in a kong, Nyla bones or deer antlers, tennis balls as she will run to play fetch (still learning on bringing back), rope toys and of course a good stick on her walks! Coming to Peace4Paws Oct 18. Holly’s ideal home will have a fenced yard for her to run around. Apply to adopt: .peace4paws/adoption-application (use laptop or computer). Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
