Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. Hi there, I'm Oiuja – a one-year-old hound mix with a heart full of love and ears ready for all your secrets. I weigh a perfect 37 pounds, just the right size for couch cuddles and outdoor adventures! I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter, so I can be a little shy at first… but once I know you're kind, I'm all in! My foster mom says I’m the perfect girl – and she’s not wrong. I’m currently living with a dog, a couple of cats, and a whole lot of love – and guess what? I get along with everyone! I adore playtime with my doggy friends, snuggling up to people of all ages (yes, even the tiny humans), and being part of the family. Crate trained? Yep! Toss me a treat and I’ll trot right in and settle down like a pro. Leash skills? Nailed it – I walk like a dream. House training? Doing great – just take me out regularly! If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, playful, and loving companion who’s ready to fill your home with tail wags, happy dances, and unconditional love… I’m your girl. Ouija is up to date on all her vaccines, spayed, microchipped and will be available for adoption on or after 10/24/25 at .pawsacrosspittsburgh/adopt Paws Across Pittsburgh, KL#16182

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
