Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Hi there, I’m Webster — a two-year-old black and white mixed breed with a heart full of love and a laid-back vibe that’s hard to resist. I’m a little shy when we first meet, but give me a bit of time (and some treats), and you’ll see my friendly, playful side shine through. I get along well with other dogs and humans, and I really enjoy a good game of chase with my dog friends. Whether it's a jog with you or a run around in the yard, I’m happiest when I get to be active with other people or dogs! I’ve got the important stuff covered — I’m neutered, microchipped, up to date on all my shots, and house trained. I’m working on crate training, and I’m making great progress with positive reinforcement. I’m also pretty quiet (I don't bark much), and I’m starting to walk pretty well on a leash — especially when I’m feeling confident and safe in my surroundings. What I really need now is a stable, patient home where I can continue to grow and feel secure. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion who just wants to be loved and go on some adventures with you, I could be your guy! I will be available for adoption on October 26, 2025 through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA. KL 16182.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
