Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Rubi is a sweet, well mannered 3 yr old pit that loves everyone. She is crate trained, house broken, knows commands and wants to make you happy. She loves to play with other dogs, we've discovered she is great at agility and she respects cats. This sweet girl just needs a home of her own so she can get all the live she deserves. Rubi is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
