Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300.00. If you really knew Audie, you’d know he’s the resident goofball — confident, playful, mildly chaotic, and completely lovable. He’s been with us for 2.5 years, and in that time, he’s built quite the fan club. If you really knew Audie, you’d know: Toys are his love language — the squeakier, the better Treats make the world go ’round (and make training extra fun) Playtime is his favorite part of the day — he’s an active, happy guy who enjoys staying busy Audie is a 4.5-year-old boy who thrives with structure, consistency, and an experienced owner committed to maintaining his training program. He can get along with other dogs, but he’ll need a kid-free home due to resource-guarding tendencies and would do best with someone who understands how to support him. With the right person, this goofy, energetic guy will absolutely shine.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
