Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 400.00. Online Adoption Application › <3 A Special Note About Me I'm part of Pawfect Match's Special Care & Rehabilitation Program. My journey is a little different than most. Some of us are healing from medical conditions. Some of us are learning to trust. Some of us have special needs or require a very specific home to thrive. While we're always open to meeting the right family, our priority is making sure we're happy, healthy, and loved every step of the way. For me, that means it would take a truly special home—someone who understands my unique needs and is committed to giving me the life I deserve. If that person comes along, we'd love to hear from them! Until then, Pawfect Match is proud to be my safety net and my family. My care doesn't stop after my rescue. Food, medications, routine veterinary care, enrichment, and lots of love are all part of my everyday life. If you'd like to be part of my journey, please consider making a donation toward my daily care. Every gift, no matter the size, helps dogs like me continue to receive the second chances we deserve. Hi there, I’m Clarey! My journey started a bit rough—I was found in the woods with my siblings, covered in fleas and sporting a few battle scars from an encounter with another dog. But nothing can slow me down in my quest for a loving home! I'm all healed up and waiting for my people now! I’m as sweet as can be and love hanging out with my foster siblings (even though I can’t resist annoying the cats a little—they don’t seem to mind too much). One of my favorite things is lying on the couch with my foster mom and my doggie pals—sometimes there are five of us, all snuggled up together! When it’s playtime, I’m the silliest pup around. If you throw a toy for me, I’ll do this adorable little hop as I run to fetch it, and I usually even bring it back! Yep, I’m a natural retriever. I’m also crate trained, though I’m not the biggest fan, and I’ve mastered the doggie door like a pro. I love to go on walks. I do need a little training but I'm just a puppy, what do you expect?!? I love my people so much I jump on them to say hello! So, what do you think? Could I be the perfect fit for your family? The adoption fee is $400, which covers food, vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet. All dogs receive a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age. Breed and size is Pawfect Match Rescue's best guess and not guaranteed. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
