Description
Dog Breed: Anatolian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Austin! This Anatolian shepherd mix is still in training and will only be placed with a home that understands the breed and will work with Austin to keep up the progress he is making. Austin, like many rescue dogs, had a rough start to life. He is very shy around new people and takes a while to warm up to them. He was born in June 2020, so he is still fairly young and would benefit from ongoing training and human companionship. In his time at WAG, he has spent time with a similarly sized female dog, so he might do well with a canine companion. Austin is looking for a calm home, so children may be overwhelming to him. Visit our website to fill out an Adoption Application .wagsequimwa If you have any questions, please email: officewagsequimwa. Most of our dogs require a fully fenced yard, this does depend on the individual dogs needs and safety requirements. Adoption donation fee up to $350 (Please understand this adoption donation goes towards helping all the dogs we rescue)

More About Anatolian Pyrenees BreedOverview:
The Anatolian Pyrenees is a large guardian hybrid created by crossing the Anatolian Shepherd of Turkey with the Great Pyrenees from the Pyrenees mountains. Known for their impressive size, often weighing between 80–140 pounds, they carry a thick double coat that provides protection in colder climates. Their temperament blends loyalty, independence, and gentleness, making them devoted family companions while retaining strong protective instincts. Although affectionate with children and calm indoors, their guarding nature and need for space make them better suited to rural or suburban homes rather than apartment living. With proper socialization, they coexist well with other pets, but consistent training is essential due to their intelligence and stubborn streak. Common health considerations include hip dysplasia, joint strain, and bloat, typical of giant breeds. Overall, the Anatolian Pyrenees is a gentle yet vigilant dog, ideal for families seeking a devoted protector.
