Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Buddy is ready to spend his golden years with his favorite person(s) in a loving home of his own. This active, tennis ball-loving senior recently spent time in a foster home, and his foster mom had wonderful things to share: · Buddy knows how to sit and shake, and walks well on a leash · Once he warms up, he’s happy to settle in and snuggle · He’s housebroken and sleeps through the night · Loves tennis balls and brings them back, dropping them at your feet or into your hand · Catches treats in the air and enjoys puzzle games—he’s a smart boy! · Buddy is mature, listens well and past the puppy-craziness stage · He enjoys exploring the yard, going for walks, and riding in the car · Buddy lights up for Zuke’s soft dog treats and dislikes blueberries · He seems happiest in a calm, quiet home where he can just relax · Buddy would likely prefer to skip festivals and other crowded places If quiet hikes, and relaxing outdoors or simply hanging out and reading a book with your best “Bud” sound like your kind of day, Buddy may be the perfect match. More than anything, he wants to stay close to his favorite person, enjoy life, and play plenty of ball. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
