Spartacus's guardian adds: "Spartie is very super loving and he is a big baby who loves to cuddle and play. He still thinks he's a lap dog, he's super energetic and loves to jump like a bunny; he loves kisses and hugs. He's free to roam around the home during the day and sleeps with me in my bed or in his crate at night. Also, he's fine during car rides." Spartacus's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "He needs more space; my home isn't big enough. I have a yard but not big enough for him. He has a lot of energy he's super sweet and loving. I just want the best for him to grow and get his energy out." Spartacus's guardian states the following regarding children: Spartacus lives with children (ages 12, 10, 5, & 3), so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "He loves children; he thinks he's a child". Spartacus's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Spartacus lives with a dog, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "He gets along with female dogs not male dogs". Spartacus's guardian states the following regarding cats: Spartacus hasn't lived with nor otherwise been around cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
