Description

Dog Breed: Rottweiler. Bronson is a purebred Rottweiler, though someone stole his diamonds. His facial markings are very faint, giving him a unique and handsome look. He is reserved when you first meet him, but once he gets to know you, he becomes a true sweetheart who loves to cuddle. Bronson knows his basic obedience and walks well on a leash with a training collar. He is well behaved in the home, and we truly enjoy having him around. He does not get into things he shouldn’t and is highly food motivated. Like all of our dogs, he would benefit from ongoing training. Bronson does well with other dogs who are kind to him. He especially enjoys the company of female dogs, but is also fine spending time with male dogs. Cats are unknown. He has done well around the children he has met and spent time with, though we recommend a home with older children. Bronson does not like it when people he does not yet know or trust lean over him, especially to pet him, and he is also uncomfortable with prolonged petting from people he is unfamiliar with. Bronson is looking for someone who is willing to go slow with him and earn his trust. The best way to win his trust is to avoid putting pressure on him while building your relationship. We recommend mostly ignoring him in terms of affection for the first week or two and focusing on structured walks and clear structure in the home instead. Once he trusts you, he will never leave your side. He is incredibly loyal and loving. He just needs someone special who is willing to resist showering him with affection until he feels safe. He has never bitten anyone, but if you try to cuddle him before he is ready, he may show his discomfort by growling and or barking at you. Bronson is one handsome boy. He loves water and will get into the pool and sit on the baja shelf. He also loves getting baths, enjoys his toys, and loves to play with other dogs. He does not bark at things he shouldn’t and overall is somewhat lazy. He would be a very happy boy if he could simply hang out with his owner all day, as he does not demand a lot of exercise. His favorite thing to do is to put his big head in your lap while you rub his ears and pet him. Bronson has been in our rescue for many years now. He is the sweetest boy and deserves nothing more than a home of his very own. He loves being around people, and we want nothing more than to see him happy. Adoption Process: If you are interested in adopting one of our fun-loving, "not-so-rotten" Rotties, you will be asked to fill out our adoption application which allows us to get to know you better. This ensures the dog you are interested in is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. You can access our Adoption Application by visiting our website at .rottenrottie, clicking on Adopt a Rottweiler Adoption Application, and submitting the form online. After reviewing your answers, if we feel the dog you are interested in is not a match for your family, we may recommend a different Rottweiler companion. Once we determine which dog is best for you, we will schedule a meeting at their current home, where they feel most comfortable and act naturally. We require a home check to ensure each dog is going to a safe environment. To finalize the process, an adoption contract must be signed. We also require a rehoming fee, which is typically $500 for most adults and $350 for seniors (6 years and older) or Rottweiler mixes of any age (excluding puppies). Fees for puppies fluctuate depending on the investment required for the litter and whether they are purebred or a mix. These funds are necessary for our organization to continue rehoming Rottweilers in need. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and have tested negative for heartworms. Each dog comes with a collar and a leash. We also address any injuries or illnesses they had upon arrival or developed in foster care; any such conditions will be fully disclosed to the adopter prior to the adoption. Please Note: In almost all cases, we do not adopt to out-of-state applicants. On rare occasions, if we feel it is a PERFECT match for both you and the dog, we may make an exception for our neighbors in Las Vegas. If you live in Las Vegas and would like to be considered, please fill out our adoption application.

Rottweiler

A.K.A.: Rottweil butcher's dog, Rottweil dog, Rottie, Rotty, Rott, Rot, Rotts, Rotties, Butchers dog, German Rottweiler
Overview:

The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
