Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: 400.00. This sweet girl is Jasmine, a 5-year-old, 60lb Terrier mix. Jasmine is super friendly, affectionate, and ready to make new human friends! Jasmine spent some time in a foster home, and she was a wonderful house guest. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and well-mannered in the home. She also knows basic commands. Jasmine loves going on walks, playing fetch and is a big fan of chew toys- squeaky ones are her favorite! After a walk or a quick romp in the yard, Jasmine is content spending her time lounging around with her family. Jasmine also loves car rides and going on adventures of any kind! Our volunteers have taken her to many parks, restaurants and adoption events and she is always well behvaed. Jasmine doesn’t mind other dogs and is unreactive around them, but would do best as the only pet in the home. Jasmine is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
