Text Trooper to 864-441-9075 for my full story and photos - we'll send everything you need to know! Here's Your Quick Peek: Trooper. One of our longer-term residents. The goldendoodle with a penchant for playing with toys and a heart of gold. He's quirky. He's different. He's going to be a great pet in the right home. Please note - if you want to skip the text and go straight to the application, you can find the link here: .carolinapoodlerescue/application/ Must have: A home committed to crating. He is intelligent and curious, and like many young dogs, he explores with his mouth, a home that will be with him more often then not, a home without shared walls. Exercise: Good for daily walks and hikes, but not a marathon runner. Best with: Another dog in the home. Trooper benefits tremendously from canine companionship and gains confidence by following a steady role model. Not ideal for: Shared walls. Trooper can be vocal when left alone. Energy level: A1 couch potato! Trooper may not immediately rush into a stranger’s arms, but he does love people and happily accepts affection. With clear boundaries and lots of love, he will reward his family with deep devotion and a heart full of gratitude. Good with dogs: Yes. Trooper would prefer another dog in the home. Good with kids: Honestly, 50/50. Trooper has never lived with kids. He's a bit of an odd duck who is probably better suited for an adults-only home. Cats: Yes. Fun fact: In an environment that caters to Trooper's need he is the equivalent to a gentle teddy bear. Potential Adopters Dogs can’t drive - and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them. Want updates and ways to help? Breed overview
Overview:
The Goldendoodle is a popular designer breed, originating in the late 1990s from a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle. These delightful dogs inherit the best traits from both parents, often displaying the Golden Retriever's friendly demeanor and the Poodle's intelligence and low-shedding coat. Physically, Goldendoodles vary, but typically have medium-length, wavy to curly coats in shades of cream, gold, red, or black. Their temperament is generally described as affectionate, intelligent, and playful, making them excellent companions. They thrive in active families and, while adaptable, their size and energy levels suggest a preference for homes with yards over small apartments, though daily exercise can make apartment living feasible. Common health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, certain eye conditions, and heart disease, typical of their parent breeds. Their friendly nature and hypoallergenic potential (though not guaranteed) contribute to their widespread appeal.
