Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. I’m Jiggy, a big, strong, and handsome pitll boy with a heart just as big as my muscles! If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, and energetic companion, I might just be your perfect match. I love people—like, REALLY love people. Playtime? Count me in! I’ve got a lot of energy, so I’d love a human who can keep up with me on walks, hikes, or just fun backyard zoomies. Now, I’ll be honest—I am selective with certain dogs. Big no to cats for me. Older children would be best for me since I am very strong and may not little ones down. I am ready for my forever home. To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-5pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
