Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Please contact foster at lashleydunc11aol Tucker is a sweet boy once he gets to know you. He did start out as a very terrified and emaciated puppy in the shelter. It has taken time to get him back into shape and to feeling more confident. He still has some ways to go and will need a patient owner who is willing to continue working with a trainer. Tucker is VERY food motivated but a bit hard headed (figuratively and literally lol). He loves dogs and cats. He also likes children but due to behavior he still is working on, he should go to a home with no young children. He lives to play and to roll in the mud; thankfully he is a wonderfully bath taker! He will hop into the tub on command! He is potty trained and as long as he has plenty of toys, non-destructive. He is also crate trained.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
