Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Rebel is a tiny Black & White Chihuahua. He is about 4.5 lbs. of cuteness! He's not crazy about men at first but warms up with treats! Ideally his owner should be a female. He is playful and loves playing with his toys! He is crate trained and potty trained if you take him out on a schedule. Rebel has one eye that is set back, probably he was kicked by a man. He is a door dasher so that may be why he got stopped to go out and it set his eye back. His eye works just fine. Rebel is a great kisser and sweet but has a mind of his own which we adore here at the rescue. He would be a great companion pet. He's a adorable! Please email us at rescuesonrunwayaol and request an application. Thank you!

Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
