Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Addie is a well-rounded queen! She loves to play with friends but she can also keep herself entertained. She has proper manners and knows when it's time to chill. She is crate-trained, likes dogs, kids and cats! She's a triple threat! Addie has a little stranger danger when meeting new people but she warms up pretty quickly. The best home for Addie would be one with another dog or two; she prefers them to be smaller than her because larger dogs scare her. Cats are no bother, but if there is a daddy in the home, he will need to be patient and provide some of the treats and meals. She is a little more nervous of men, but food is the way to her heart and after a few days of treats, a daddy is acceptable. Don't miss out on your chance to meet sweet Addie. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
