Description
Dog Breed: Rottweiler (short coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Adoption Profile: Meet Ash Status: Available for Adoption Age: 21 Months Location: Mooresville, NC Health: Ash is fully up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and current on all preventatives. His Journey Ash came to our rescue from a hoarding situation. When he first arrived, he had a very "puppy-like" innocence—not necessarily because of his age, but because he had never truly experienced life or the world around him. Over the last several months, Ash has matured into a stunningly handsome dog. He has moved past that initial puppy phase and has developed a strong, confident personality. He is a dog who knows his own mind, but at his core, he remains an absolute sweetheart who just wants to be loved and be near his people. Social Life & Personality Ash is a social guy who gets along well with other dogs! He is a loyal companion who craves connection. However, due to his background, he does have some specific needs when it comes to "house rules": Food & Treats: Ash can be food aggressive and is not willing to share his meals or treats with other dogs. Potential adopters should be mindful of their fingers during hand-feeding or treat time. Training & Consistency: Through a lot of time and commitment at the rescue, Ash did learn to eat in the same space as other dogs. However, in a new environment with new canine siblings, this training will need to start over from scratch. Mealtime Management: In the beginning, Ash will need to be fed separately. This includes being mindful of him while humans are eating or snacking to ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable. The Ideal Match Ash has learned and grown so much during his time with us. Because a new home is a big transition, he will need an adopter who understands that his training will need to be reinforced as he adjusts. He is looking for a family that will offer him the structure he needs while giving him all the affection he deserves. If you are looking for a loyal, handsome, and devoted partner, Ash is ready to meet you! Ready to bring Ash home? Submit an adoption application at: .arrfnc/info/adoption . Hi. Overview:
The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
