Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Chance is a handsome, easygoing guy who's happy to march to the beat of his own drum. He's an independent dog who enjoys having his own space, exploring the yard, and relaxing on his own terms. While he isn't the type to constantly seek out attention, he's always happy to stop by for a tasty treat! Chance gets along well with both people and other animals, making him an easy companion in the right home. He's kennel trained, settles nicely into a routine, and has a calm, laid-back personality. Like many dogs, Chance prefers to enjoy his meals without company. He does best when fed separately from other pets, making mealtime peaceful and stress-free for everyone. Outside of mealtime, he coexists well with other animals. Chance does have one challenge: he needs frequent potty breaks during the day. He does very well overnight in his kennel and enjoys having a consistent routine. Chance isn't looking for someone who expects a shadow—he's looking for someone who appreciates a dog that's content to simply share life together. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
