She loves her people deeply and wants nothing more than to be right by your side—whether you’re on the couch, in bed, or even brushing your teeth. She’s happiest when she can be close to her person, and she’ll let you know with her gentle whines or soulful howls if she feels left out. Duchess is a true companion through and through, always watching, always devoted. At home, Duchess takes her role as protector seriously. She’s alert to her surroundings and will let you know if someone’s nearby. She’s especially wary of men and tends to growl at male visitors, even with slow introductions. She’s made friends with a few patient female visitors but prefers a calm, predictable home without a lot of strangers coming and going. Outside the home, she’s more relaxed and friendly, but her comfort zone is very much her safe space with the people she trusts. Duchess is housetrained and working on her crate training.
