Description

Dog Breed: Blue Lacy (medium coat). Cutie (aka Judy Moody) is a low-key, gentle and sweet girl. She enjoys all people, especially children of all ages and loves visitors! At home, she enjoys finding sunny spots and cozy heat vents to cuddle up to during the day and is content to nap for hours at a time. She is a spotless houseguest with great manners. In the kitchen, she’ll happily keep you company while you cook dinner (roast chicken is her kryptonite) and will snuffle under the kitchen table for crumbs, but Judy also has great manners and understands no begging for food during mealtime. Judy loves car rides, two walk a day, children, chicken and house guests. Her dislikes include: overexcited dogs on leash, the vacuum & precipitation of any kind. We’ve found Judy very open to redirection on walks, and positive reinforcement has worked great to manage her mild leash reactivity. She is, at her core, a sensitive, mellow and smart girl who has excellent manners and aims to please. You can find more photos of adorable Cutie online here: photos.app.goo.gl/hsXBJ1wQ6v7xZNpZ7

Overview:

The Blue Lacy, a distinctive breed originating from Texas in the mid-19th century, was primarily developed by the Lacy family for its versatile working abilities. These medium-sized dogs are known for their striking appearance, often featuring a short, smooth coat that can be blue (a silvery-gray), red, or tri-color, and captivating amber eyes. Physically, they possess a muscular yet agile build, perfectly suited for their historical roles in herding, hunting, and general farm work. Temperamentally, Lacys are described as intelligent, energetic, and loyal companions, thriving on having a "job" to do. While highly trainable and devoted to their families, their high energy levels and strong prey drive make them less ideal for apartment living and require significant daily exercise. They can be excellent family dogs for active households willing to provide consistent training and socialization. Generally a robust breed, the Blue Lacy is known for its good health, though like all breeds, responsible breeding practices help mitigate potential issues.
