Description
Dog Breed: Blue Lacy (medium coat). Cutie is a low-key, gentle soul with the sweetest personality. She adores people of all agesâespecially childrenâand lights up whenever visitors stop by. At home, she's happiest curled up in a sunny spot or stretched out over a cozy heat vent, perfectly content to snooze the day away. She's a spotless houseguest with impeccable manners and a calm, easygoing nature. In the kitchen, Cutie loves to keep you company while you cook (roast chicken is definitely her kryptonite!) and will happily sniff around under the table for the occasional crumb, but she knows better than to beg during mealtime. She also loves car rides, walks, and spending time with her favorite people. Cutie's gentle, unhurried pace makes her an excellent candidate for a nice leisurely walk. She would love the chance to get out of the shelter more often, enjoy some extra exercise, and soak up one-on-one attention. She simply prefers a peaceful stroll over a chaotic adventure. Sensitive, mellow, and eager to please, Cutie is the kind of companion who asks for very little and gives so much in return. If you're looking for a sweet, well-mannered friend who will happily share quiet moments and easy adventures, Cutie may be the perfect match. Overview:
The Blue Lacy, a distinctive breed originating from Texas in the mid-19th century, was primarily developed by the Lacy family for its versatile working abilities. These medium-sized dogs are known for their striking appearance, often featuring a short, smooth coat that can be blue (a silvery-gray), red, or tri-color, and captivating amber eyes. Physically, they possess a muscular yet agile build, perfectly suited for their historical roles in herding, hunting, and general farm work. Temperamentally, Lacys are described as intelligent, energetic, and loyal companions, thriving on having a "job" to do. While highly trainable and devoted to their families, their high energy levels and strong prey drive make them less ideal for apartment living and require significant daily exercise. They can be excellent family dogs for active households willing to provide consistent training and socialization. Generally a robust breed, the Blue Lacy is known for its good health, though like all breeds, responsible breeding practices help mitigate potential issues.
