Description

Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Adoption Fee: $427.50 includes all applicable MN sales tax. We found out about Sissy being in a shelter in southern Illinois, got all temperament information, posted for a foster, had a tentative plan, and committed to her. In the middle of getting a transport plan together, the shelter told us that Sissy is pregnant, about a month along. We let her foster family know and they did not hesitate...they said they would still foster her. 11/23 UPDATE: Sissy arrived at her Wisconsin foster home last weekend and she is doing amazing! She is the best girl and gets along with absolutely everyone and everything. We are working on getting her in to be spayed then she will be ready to find her furver home!! 12/17 UPDATE FROM SISSY'S FOSTER MOM: If anyone is looking for a lap dog who wants nothing more than to make you happy…look no further. She may be a weeeee big for your lap, but that doesn’t matter, you can make it work if you try. And look at that pouty lip, how can you say no? Do you get cold at night? She is a portable heater! She will snuggle the cold right off of you! Kids don’t like veggies? You will never know, because she will help them out…not very discretely. Do you hate people soliciting and coming to your door? She does too! She will let you know before they make it so you can all hide! Want your kids to stop running in the house? Just tell her and she will chase them down and make them stop! But this might backfire and become a game for everyone. Do you just want a companion that will watch Real Housewives with you? She is game. Wanna go for a walk? She is game. Want to play and wrestle? She is game. She wants to do whatever you want to do! She loves adults, kids, cats, wearing sweaters, treats, learning new tricks, snuggling on the couch, playing and running through the snow.

Boxer

A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:

The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
