Description
Dog Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Grace is with our rescue partner in Louisiana is available to come to NJ if we find a foster or adopter. Grace is a sweet girl whose eyes feel like the window to her soul. Estimated to be 5 to 7 years old, she's smart, a little sassy, and very much her own woman. Grace marches to the beat of her own drum in the cutest way. She's done well living alongside multiple dogs, but she can be a bit selective and prefer to interact on her own terms. Because she's confident and independent, she may do best as the only dog or with a compatible male companion who is calm and easygoing. Grace is also a dreamer - relaxing on top of her crate and watching the world outside. She does show some reactivity to small wildlife. She's settling nicely to her routine, loves meal time and treats and has overall lovely manners. Grace would be a wonderful fit for a home that appreciates a dog with personality and independence. Grace is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to wag-on-inn . Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
