Our Adoption Process:Muttsinneed/adoption-process **Oliver’s ideal home: -a family that isn’t gone for for 5-8hrs a day, unless he has another friendly dog at home to keep him company -a home where he doesn’t have to manage constantly going up the stairs (he’ll be happy sleeping in the first floor living room Meet Oliver! He just completed an exhausting 21+ hour crate journey all the way from overseas. Oh—and he’s completely blind. But don’t worry about him judging your décor, your treat stash location, or whether you splurged on fancy rugs. He truly doesn’t mind what he can’t see. Oliver weighs about 40 lbs and is estimated to be 2.5 years old. He has a handsome wire-haired coat, is dog-friendly (he follows lead on whatever dog is near him on getting around) and has a very sweet temperament. He is also cat-friendly and does well with cats that ignore him being there or are dog-friendly. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
