Description

Dog Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Brocho is with our rescue partner in Louisiana and can come to NJ if we find a foster or adopter. Brocho is an easygoing, loving boy who gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and genders. He happily plays with his current crew - a staffy, a boxer and even a little chihuahua mix. He knows "sit" and is working on "shake" and walks nicely on the leash. Brocho is simply a gentle, well-mannered pup who is more than ready for a home of his own. If you're looking for a friendly companion who fits right in, Brocho can't wait to meet you. Brocho is up to date on vaccines and is fixed. His adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to wag-on-inn . A.K.A.: Pit Bull, APBT, AmStaff, American Staffordshire Terrier, Stafford, Staffy, Pibble, Pittie, Bully, Bull breed, Working Pit, Colby Pit, Old Family Dog, Old Family Red Nose, Red Nose Pit, Blue Nose Pit, Game Dog, Fighting Dog, Gladiator Dog, Nanny Dog, American Bull Dog, Bull and Terrier, Half-and-Half, Yankee Terrier, Irish Pit Bull, English Pit Bull
Overview:

The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
