Meet Chyanne Your Loyal, Water-Loving Best Friend Chyanne is a 7-year-old Pit mix (48 lbs.) who is more than ready to find the forever home she's been patiently waiting for. After spending 129 days waiting as of 04/10/26, she's now one of our special Diamond Dogs- her adoption fee has been reduced to just $75- but what she truly wants is a family to call her own. Surrendered due to her previous home having too many animals, Chyanne has been living in a foster home where she's shown just how wonderful of a companion she is. She's a sweet, gentle, and loyal girl who forms strong bonds with her people and thrives on love and companionship. Chyanne does well with children and male dogs and has a calm, easygoing personality that makes her a perfect match for someone looking for a steady, devoted companion. She's past the puppy phase and is content with quality time, companionship, and being included in your daily life. One of Chyanne's favorite things? Water! Whether it's splashing in puddles, playing in a kiddie pool, or just enjoying the outdoors, she's happiest when she's having fun with her people. Chyanne is spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccinations, and heartworm negative- she's healthy and ready to go home. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
