Description

Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Ember is a mature, affectionate girl looking for a quiet, stable home where she can relax and be herself. She would do best as the only pet, as she is selective with dogs and has a very strong prey drive toward cats. She enjoys long walks, outdoor time, and is just as happy settling in for couch cuddles with her people. In calmer settings, she is affectionate, people-oriented, and enjoys close companionship.The shelter environment has been very stressful for Ember, and she has shown kennel stress behaviors including barking, jumping, and leash grabbing. She would benefit greatly from a calm, structured home where she can decompress. Recent foster feedback shows she does best when she is close to her people and on a routine, where she becomes more relaxed and affectionate. However, she remains highly fixated on cats and has actively chased them, including one incident where she briefly made contact before being stopped with no injury. Because of this, Ember will need a strictly cat-free home.Ember is a sweet dog who is struggling in the shelter and would thrive in a calm home where she can feel safe and supported.
