Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Available to foster or adopt! Breed: Pit Bull X DOB: 10/2023 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: short Size: large Color(s): grey/white Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm Mikey, a very sweet Pit Bull X with a heart of gold and a nose for adventure. I'm in need of a new home as I was found as a stray and although my owners were found by my microchip, they never responded or came for me, but I know CARL will help me find my true forever home. I'm not reactive when I go out for a walk, but I do excited over some smells and be a bit of a puller to go and investigate it. It's unknown at this time how I would do with other dogs, cats or children. I'm still learning about the world and would benefit from a family who can continue my training and provide me with the love and care I deserve. I'm a real charmer and will make a wonderful addition to a lucky family. Could that be you? Please fill out an online application to meet me. *Thank you to Sharon for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving him the chance for a better life.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
