After a lifetime of being a devoted companion, shes found herself starting overbut she hasn't missed a single beat. The Senior Superstar Stats: Fully Trained: House rules? Shes already mastered them. Gentle Soul: Perfect for kids and lower-energy homes. Medium Size: At 45lbs, shes the ideal "cuddle" size. Pro Napper: Has a PhD in afternoon snoozing. Abby is gentle, affectionate, and ready to adore her next human. Shes good with other dogs (with slow intros) but is looking for a home without small dogs. All of our animals receive comprehensive veterinary care prior to adoption, including a full exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, spay or neuter, heartworm testing, and any necessary medical treatment. A vet reference, home and/or family visit, and an adoption fee are required. Transport options are available within our operating region, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. We do not adopt animals to Canada. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
