Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (short coat). Meet NOVA ✨ About 55 pounds of love, wiggles, and couch-snuggle energy. Nova is 2 years old, turning 3 on February 17th, and she’s spayed and ready to find her forever home. She is a certified cuddle bug who believes personal space is optional once you sit down. If you’re looking for a dog who will happily curl up with you after a walk, she’s your girl. She loves to play, go on walks, and chase a ball like it personally offended her. Fetch is a favorite sport, and she brings enthusiasm every single time. Nova does great with other dogs and even cats, making her a wonderful companion in a multi-pet home. She can be a little protective over her toys, but that’s her only real quirk. She hasn’t been around kids, so a home without young children would be best. Sweet, loyal, playful, and full of love, Nova is ready to trade her current zip code for a forever family and a spot on your couch If interested in meeting Nova please contact foster mom: Hope Rosales (619)627-3790 hoperosales555gmail

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
