Description
Dog Breed: Pomeranian / Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Thank you for stopping by to see me! Please fill out an application to set up a private meeting. *SPECIAL NEEDS: Kensi is deaf and vision impaired, please read entire bio before applying to ensure Kensi is a good match for your home** Kensi is a fluffy little Pomsky mystery who operates very much like a majestic woodland creature—sweet, curious, and happiest when she has her kingdom (aka your home) all to herself. She may be mostly blind and deaf, but don’t let that fool you. This girl navigates life with the confidence of someone who absolutely knows where the treat jar is at all times. Kensi is a oneādog show, and she prefers it that way. Other dogs? Hard pass. Cats? Also no. Farm animals? Surprisingly fine. Humans? Yes, please. She greets new people with friendly enthusiasm and will happily accept snacks, pets, and compliments about her fabulous coat. She enjoys wandering her yard like a tiny, fuzzy explorer, sniffing out the secrets of the universe (or at least the squirrels). She’s played with toys, enjoys treats, and trots along nicely on a leash. She’s potty trained, rides well in the car, and has just the right amount of sass to keep life interesting. Kensi is looking for a calm home where she can be the star of the show, the queen of the castle, the solo act in her own personal sitcom. She’s sweet, she’s quirky, she’s independent, and she’s ready to be someone’s loyal little sidekick—no other dogs required, thank you very much. If you’re looking for a unique, lovable companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Kensi is your girl. Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiriesunderdogrescuemn> ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: .underdogrescuemn/adoptionprocess/ Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN. All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at .underdogrescuemn/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website .underdogrescuemn/foster-applications and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Breed overview
Overview:
The Pomsky, a charming designer breed, is a delightful mix of the intelligent Siberian Husky and the spirited Pomeranian. Originating in the early 2010s, their popularity rapidly surged due to their captivating appearance. Physically, Pomskies are typically medium-sized, weighing between 10-35 pounds, boasting a thick, fluffy double coat that comes in a wide array of colors and patterns, often resembling a miniature Husky. Their eyes can be a striking blue, brown, or even heterochromatic. Temperamentally, they are known for being playful, intelligent, and affectionate, often forming strong bonds with their families. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they thrive with daily exercise and mental stimulation. They can be suitable for families and even apartment living if their exercise needs are consistently met. Potential owners should be aware of possible health concerns common to both parent breeds, such as patellar luxation, eye conditions, and dental issues, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups crucial for a long, healthy life.
