Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Hi my name is Cali! I’m scruffy, silly and full of fun loving energy. I’m a busy girl but I’m professionally trained and come with my training and tools! I’m fully potty trained, crate trained and know basic commands such as sit, down, place, and stay - of course! My favorite things include balls, the jet setting on the garden hose, and playing. I could play with a dog friend literally all day. Given that I’m high energy, if I don’t have a dog playmate, I’d need a human who’s up lots activity! Running partner? Yes please! I LOVE kids and other people, but I think cats are toys and not friends - oopsy! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
